BANK RATE ANNOUNCEMENT

Snow and cold weather advice

Be prepared for snow and cold weather, the freezing temperatures can damage your home

  1. Leave your heating on and set your thermostat to a minimum of 10 C
  2. Get your boiler and central heating serviced
  3. Insulate your loft, pipes and water tanks

If you are affected by a frozen/burst pipes

  • Turn off the water at the mains
  • If it has caused severe water damage, turn off the electricity supply completely and leave the property until a qualified electrian can inspect the system.
  • Do not touch the electricity supply if you are standing in water
  • Catch any dripping water in buckets, if your ceiling starts to bulge pierce some small holes to allow water to drain through – preventing further damage
  • If the ceiling bulges are significant please leave the property for your own safety

Making a claim

If you have taken your Home Insurance through us, then you can register your claim by contacting RSA on

They will register your claim and provide you with all the help and guidance they can.
